First publications from the lab, both in RNA

The Cottrell Lab has published our first two research articles, both in RNA. The articles came out in back-to-back issue of RNA, November and December of 2025. The first of the two articles describes our project studying PACT the role of PACT in suppressing PKR activation in TNBC. It was led by first author Addison Young, a third year graduate student in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The second article describes our efforts to evaluate ZYS-1, a reported inhibitor of ADAR1 (spoiler - we found that it doesn’t inhibit ADAR1). It was led by first author Cassandra Smoak, a second year graduate student in PULSe. Congratulations to both first authors and all of the Cottrell Lab members who contributed to these projects.
